Kiva: prestiti umanitari

Oggi vi voglio parlare di KIVA.

Kiva nasce nell'ottobre del 2005 dall'idea della coppia Matt Flannery and Jessica Jackley in seguito ad un seminario frequentato nel 2003 riguardante la Grameen Bank di Muhammad Yunus presso la Stanford Business School. Kiva significa "unità" in swahili.

Kiva consente alle istituzioni che si occupano di dare dei microfinanziamenti, chiamate "Field Partners", di postare dei profili contenenti foto, nome della persona, luogo e oggetto del finanziamento riguardanti i propri impenditori sulla pagina web di Kiva.: www.kiva.org.
Coloro che desiderano dare in prestito dei soldi (noi) possono così scegliere a chi darli, sapendo esattamente cosa andranno a finanziare. Kiva quindi riceve i soldi dai singoli "donatori" (noi), li distribuisce ai vari partners siti nei paesi del terzo mondo, chiamati "Field partners", che a loro volta li distribuiscono ai vari imprenditori locali che sono stati scelti per essere gli assegnatari.
Quando l'imprenditore ripaga il proprio finanziamento, i "field partners" raccolgono i soldi, li inviano a Kiva che a sua volta li fa tornare nel portafoglio del finanziatore (noi) per essere , eventualmente, riassegnati in un secondo momento a qualcun'altro o semplicemente per tenerseli, sapendo di avere contribuito al benessere di un imprenditore e della sua famiglia in un paese del terzo mondo.

 I soldi passano per Pay Pal che in questo caso rifiuta di fare pagare delle tasse su tali transazioni, questo al fine di agevolare gli imprenditori naturalmente. Tuttavia i "Field partners" cioè le organizzazioni umanitarie site nel terzo mondo che scelgono i vari imprenditori, le fanno pagare ed a volte sono talmente salate, da diventare un vero e proprio strozzinaggio. Kiva si difende dicendo che non collabora con dei partners strozzini, tuttavia vi metto la tabella di quelli con cui nn bisogno collaborare.
 Taluni ritengono che le rate d'interesse delle istituzioni che danno i microcrediti sono irragionevolmente alte, mentre Muhammad Yunus, nel suo ultimo libro sostiene addirittura che le istituzioni che fanno pagare più del 15% dovrebbero essere multate.
